I had a hair cut appointment scheduled for the first week of January, which unfortunately coincided with the national lockdown. Following the closure, I assumed that upon reopening, I would be rescheduled for my cut. However, this was not the case. A post on their social media page in March indicated that regular clients would be contacted before the reopening date to secure appointments. Despite being a loyal customer for 16 years, I received no communication. To my surprise, in early April, I discovered that they were fully booked. As someone with fine hair that requires regular maintenance, the situation left me in a difficult position. Due to health issues, including cervical spondylosis, attempting to cut my own hair was both challenging and painful. When I reached out to The Strand in early April to inquire about my appointment, highlighting that missing my January appointment was beyond my control, I received no response. Recently, my sister visited the salon and inquired about my situation, only to be informed that I was not considered a regular customer like her and my mother, as we do not spend as much money as they do. This treatment has left me feeling discriminated against, ostracized, and deeply upset. Every customer should be valued and treated equally, regardless of their spending habits. The lack of professionalism displayed in this situation is truly disheartening.
This salon is exceptionally welcoming, and I cannot recommend it highly enough, especially the services provided by Nicole. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of being styled by various professionals at the salon, all of whom were excellent. However, Nicole stands out as one of the best. She listens attentively, comprehends my preferences, and communicates effectively. Additionally, her head massages are truly exceptional. Thank you, Nicole, I look forward to seeing you in February 2017.
I have been frequenting this establishment for approximately 4 years now and have never encountered any issues. The ambiance is delightful, the hot beverages are lovely, and I genuinely feel like the staff are my friends. The cleanliness and professionalism are always top-notch. The hair wash and head massage are simply amazing, and the chair that massages you as well is a fantastic touch. I wholeheartedly recommend this salon.
