Jenni really knows her stuff, very kind and helpful. Helped me pick what would look good for my skin. Stopped and asked every step of the way if I liked it or if I wanted anything different. Reasonably priced.
RACISM, HARASSMENT, AND DISRESPECT: amongst what I personally witnessed/experienced. Listen to other reviews calling out the older women among the 3 nail techs, this review is about her. I have come to this salon multiple times, I had never seen this older woman, whom I assume is the owner & only occasionally comes in. For context, the nail technicians share the salon with a hairdresser who is a POC. As soon as I sat down I see the nail tech looking at the hairdresser when she began attending to her own client, speaking in her native language under her face mask to the other nail techs. When the hairdresser turned on her equipment to work on her client's hair, the nail tech again looked at the hairdresser then commented to me that it smelled, even though it was actually the nail acrylic that had a strong odor. She made a scene by opening the salon door & coughing/waiving her hand in front of her face then continued to do my nails whilst telling colleagues it stank. Aside from this, this nail tech is incompetent & shouldn’t be doing nails, she overheated my nails with the polish machine multiple times. At one point, she was so aggressive that the machine rotated 360 around my finger, which even startled her as this is so dangerous. I then showed her the design I wanted: a French tip with a milky white acrylic base (suggested by her colleague in my last visit). However, both she and I realized that the milky white appeared clear against my skin tone, as I am a POC, & it did not match the reference image. She tried a different powder acrylic, but we agreed that it was too white. She attempted to mix both powders, but it was still too white. She rudely said, "I've tried 3 colors on you, what else do you want me to do? If you don't like any, I'm not doing your nails." Confused by her attitude, I agreed to go with the milky white color, & she warned me not to complain or else. When she asked about the nail shape, I requested a square shape like the image. She suggested a slight coffin shape, but I declined and insisted on sharp square. As she started shaping my nails, I looked directly at my hand to see how she was getting on. She aggressively grabbed my hand, scolded me, & warned me to stop looking, claiming I had to let her do her job in peace and she’d let me know when I was allowed to check. Her behavior shocked me as I had done nothing wrong/ not complained. She then slapped my hand and demanded that I check. As expected, she had created the shape she desired without listening, which was more coffin than square. I informed her that they looked more like coffin nails, and this is why I prefer to check and communicate my preferences. ATP, she completely lost it & as other reviews mention - she becomes rude when customers express their preferences, disagrees and gaslights. She insisted that the shape she created was square and called me crazy for thinking otherwise. I explained that I wanted the shape in the image & suggested she file them down slightly to achieve that look. In a fit of rage, she viciously grabbed my hand and shouted that there was nothing wrong with my nails, claiming they were already square. Despite my efforts to avoid an argument and her unnecessary shouting, she was clearly embarrassed and frustrated that I was remaining calm. She became even louder, exhibiting aggressive body language and shouting, "What's wrong with you? There's nothing wrong with
