Having been very active in numerous sports, particularly running, from my early teens until my mid 50s, regrettably my body began to suffer from injuries that were either historical or new and incredibly debilitating, including issues with my right knee and my piriformis muscle. Alex has been treating me for just over two years now, and I believe that without this treatment then I would most likely be walking with a stick now. However, her treatment and the exercises and stretches that she has shown me, have enabled me to continue with my passion of cycling without hindrance, and to also be able to walk without constant pain. I was very hesitant to seek treatment initially because it was unfamiliar to me as I hadn’t even had a massage before, but I am so pleased that I did as it has truly altered my expectations for my future life. Both Alex and Emma devise the treatment plan that is best for you, and completely put you at ease, dispelling any sense of fear and intimidation, and actually making the experience enjoyable. My advice if you are undecided about treatment like this is to give it a try. Like me, it might improve your life significantly.
I have struggled with Lymphoedema for a few years but it was always worsening - to the point I struggled to walk and couldn’t straighten my left leg. After the initial session of MLD with Emma I noticed a significant difference and now after several I can walk so much easier and do not have hardly any pain. Lymphoedema can never be cured but it is certainly a lot easier to live with since getting MLD regularly. Cannot recommend Emma at The Body Mechanic Clinic highly enough.
Been going to see Emma since she opened her clinic in Edinburgh find her treatment to be top-notch, had various treatments over the years from other practitioners but what Emma provides is exceptional, won't go anywhere else. Highly recommend you give her a try, you won't be disappointed.
