Asda Downpatrick Superstore

Was perusing Tesco today before myself and my mates final a-level. My mate tried to buy a Red Bull, and was asked for ID upon a “random check”. Although my mate was happy to comply with the said staff member, the treatment we received during this interaction was unacceptable to say the least. Where a courteous response in customer service should have been apparent; my mate was faced with a completely dismissive and haughty reply. For instance, one of the impolite remarks that were made was “Have you ever shopped at Tesco before?” . Which was highly impolite and added pressure on top of an already stressful day. Even after this rather unpleasant encounter, my mate handed over her driving license, which she had forgotten was in her car, so she had to go out and retrieve it. She was faced with yet another entirely unpleasant reply, where the staff member said, “you should really carry your passport not your driving license”, this reply was not only quite intrusive but also very condescending and made me reconsider shopping at downpatrick Tesco again. This occurrence was quite enlightening and downpatrick Tesco should be embracing customers rather than just driving them away as even though they are no longer a store but a gazebo, I was still showing my support for the business.

Fantastic if you relish chasing your trolley around the fruit and veg section - the floor is slanted so you can't leave it without it rolling across or down the aisle. Got anything in your trolley? Enjoy battling against the inclined floor trying to push it uphill and around corners. The store also has a really subpar layout and a very limited selection of items. Awful.

Lovely store with the most fantastic staff! I had an issue with my phone driving up from Cork and the staff were incredibly helpful assisting me in finding my way home and one staff member, (I didn't catch his name) but he allowed me to use his phone as a hotspot to help me out! Thank you so much!! An outstanding team of staff here 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
