The solitary star is for the nails. The absence of stars is for the service. Upon arrival, only one other individual was waiting. I selected my colour and was seated. The individual working on my nails seemed excessively hurried. As the place became busier and more people waited, he abruptly switched to attending to someone else's nails halfway through filing mine! This occurred even before I had finished waiting for the paint to dry, as I had just received the acrylics. I sat there waiting for 30 minutes until another staff member took over. Despite requesting a square shape, I was given a coffin shape. The filing was so rough and rushed that three of my fingers bled from the cuticles and filing, causing discomfort. When applying the top coat, two chips appeared. The staff member proceeded to inspect the nail UV light to see if it was my fault. It wasn't, as I had not chipped them. She then apologized and mentioned she hadn't noticed the chip as my nails were too far away. By this point, I had been in the chair for 2 hours and just wanted to depart. £45 for standard acrylics without a gel overlay or any artistic designs and subpar service. Lastly, there was a male employee working on other customers' nails who stepped outside to smoke, returned, continued working on the nails without washing his hands even once! In fact, he grabbed a dry cloth, wiped his hands on it, and resumed working. The lack of hygiene in this establishment is concerning and should be reported. Next time, I will return to my usual spot on west street. The nails appear decent, but there is room for improvement. The service is lacking.
