My spouse took our 2 grandchildren to this Salon on Friday 31st May 24. The kids are aged 6 and 20 months respectively, with very fine, short hair. The lady who attended to them was highly efficient. The children behaved well, and it took a maximum of 10 minutes for both. However, my spouse was charged £25.00 per child!!!! I understand it's a business, but this is a complete rip-off. I spoke to the owner, whose attitude was far from understanding, insisting these prices for children are outrageous. She mentioned giving a £3 discount per child, making it £28 each!!! She claimed I was unfair to a small business... Such charges will keep you small as you won't have our custom again. Parents, be cautious.
I booked an appointment for my granddaughter to get a restyle, but I've had to cancel twice now due to her college commitments. The staff were very understanding and didn't make me feel guilty for canceling again. Once my granddaughter finishes her studies and exams, she will definitely visit Jo's salon because of the understanding they have shown towards me.
I've had my hair cut thrice at this salon, but the latest one really irked me. Previous stylists I used to work with gave me great haircuts, but this time, a different stylist, with a cold smile throughout, was assigned. I can overlook that as long as the cut turns out well. I'm not overly fussy; I just want a tidy, low-maintenance cut. I can tolerate technical errors if some care is taken. However, this stylist was careless. Despite showing examples, they just glanced over them. I requested a shorter cut, but the back remained too long. The inner layer of hair was also too lengthy, almost matching the outer layer. After one wash and blow-dry, it all stuck up the next day. This is the first time I've had such a bad haircut. I felt embarrassed daily due to my unruly ends. I tried to be clear with my requests and expectations, but since the stylist disregarded them, I have nothing more to say. Clearly, I'm not their ideal client and will seek a place where someone is patient enough to listen.
