My worst hair day ever…..

My hair was ruined by this salon, if you seek hair dyeing. I strongly advise looking elsewhere. I went in for a Balayage costing £140, and my hair has been deteriorating since. It was dyed and styled with straighteners at the salon, and from the images, you can witness the damage. The initial and subsequent images displayed my hair after washing it with colour care products for the first time, I raised my concerns to Utopia and they mentioned that this had occurred to someone else as well and offered a conditioning treatment. The third and fourth images are post the conditioning treatment. My hair was sleeker at the back but did not revive my lifeless hair. At this juncture, I demanded a full refund and a corrective cut. They only refunded me 50% and snipped a chunk out of my hair (on one side only), without truly styling it or making a genuine effort to rectify their error. The final images depict the current state of my hair and truthfully...the 99p store could do a superior job. I cannot express how devastated and furious I am with the entire situation. After research, guidance from professional salons and the Customer Rights Act, I penned a letter to the proprietor and eventually received a full refund. I wish to highlight that this salon did not conduct a skin test and intriguingly, the owner also believed I didn’t require a skin test as they were bleaching my hair and not touching the roots (Hmmmmmm). It is a legal obligation for all salons to conduct a skin test (even if they don't touch the roots of your hair). The entire ordeal has shattered my confidence and trust in hair stylists and has left my hair looking dreadful, I've had to invest in additional conditioning treatments and will need to recut and redye my hair when it is healthier. If you seek a beautiful, new, exciting style and colour...DO NOT CHOOSE UTOPIA.

Hair cut at Utopia with Claire. I had around twelve photos to exhibit...all quite similar cuts...any variation of those would have sufficed. She completed the cut and in my view, it did not resemble any of the photos & upon returning home I noticed uneven layers on one side. I emailed & politely requested her to blend those in on my second visit. We also discussed that the back wasn't quite as desired but that I would wait for it to grow a bit. She mentioned that she didn't execute it exactly like the photo the first time as 'we' agreed that might be too drastic this time if I was concerned about layers...she only mentioned that to me after she finished the cut the first time 'we' did not agree on that at all. She then asserted she could rectify the back as I wanted it immediately. I expressed apprehension but she assured me she could replicate the photo this time. She enhanced the front on one side but worsened the other side and made the back even further from my chosen style and closer to the cut I explicitly did not desire.
