I rarely leave reviews, but this time I felt compelled to do so. Even awarding 1 star feels overly generous. I deeply regret not reading the reviews before visiting this salon. I had booked an appointment for a hair straightening session and visited the next day. The lady suggested a treatment called "volume magic," and I agreed, assuming it was the best option. During the treatment, while the hair cream was on my hair, she said something I couldn't comprehend. She rushed me to the wash basin, quickly dried my hair with a hairdryer for a few minutes, and proceeded to straighten my wet hair. I could hear the sizzle, and I immediately informed her, but she insisted it was fine and continued with the ironing. The next day, after washing my hair, my worst fears were confirmed - my hair was dry, rough, and severely damaged. It felt like straw. I messaged her explaining the situation, and her response was that the volume magic treatment required some moisture to prevent damage. However, my hair wasn't just damp; it was dripping wet. I consulted other hairdressers who confirmed that hair should be thoroughly dried before straightening. I was charged £150 for the service that left my hair damaged beyond repair. It was an absolute nightmare. Despite reaching out to her multiple times, she simply stated that she couldn't assist me and suggested cutting my highlights - which were minimal and only at the ends. The damage wasn't limited to the highlights; my natural hair was also burnt and dried out. Additionally, the volume magic treatment had no positive effect; it only worsened the condition of my hair. Instead of offering to rectify the situation, she rudely accused me of making excuses about the highlights. Unlike other professional hairdressers who would offer a redo, she shifted the blame onto me for her subpar service. Following that exchange, she ceased communication, and I had to seek another hairdresser who had to chop off most of my hair, including the few highlights and my natural hair. I left the salon in tears. I initially hesitated to leave a negative review as the salon is operated by an elderly lady, but the appalling service and disrespectful response left me with no choice but to share my experience.

I am aware that there have been customers who were not satisfied with her services, but as a fellow South Korean, I have full trust in this salon. It truly embodies an authentic Korean hair salon experience. While my taste may differ from others, every visit to this salon reminds me of Korea. The lady has been successfully running this business for years in the UK, and although she may come across as a bit insensitive, I can confirm that this is a genuine Korean hair salon. She is a delightful individual, so let's not be too harsh in our judgments.

Despite the lady's limited proficiency in English, she demonstrates the competence and skills necessary to ensure customers receive the desired haircut. The pricing is also reasonable, especially considering the current inflation and cost of living crisis. I will definitely return for another appointment with this skilled hairdresser.
