This is the first time I’ve been to get my nails done since my wife passed away a few months ago. I have young children so found childcare and I was looking forward to my booked appointment. The woman who did my nails made me feel really uncomfortable and as though I was being silly. I asked to have my nails slightly shorter and she sighed heavily in my face, loud enough for the other customers to hear her. My exact words were “could I have them slightly shorter please, thank you.” She then shouted “what do you want!” So I showed her a picture of my nails I had done previously (slightly shorter) and she pushed the phone away shouting “don’t show me pictures, tell me” .. so again I said slightly shorter than what they are now, thank you. She grabbed my hand and proceeded to chop half of my nails off without looking at me. I asked for ombré nails as I always have the same pink and white powder but I’ve come away with pink nails with nail varnish on top. They are thick and block colour. I was charged for ombré with shellac.. I have neither of those things. This is my first time visiting the shop and most definitely will be my last. I understand that everyone has bad days but I was so polite and very direct with what I wanted. I will not tolerate being made to look silly in front of others simply because I politely asked for slightly shorter than she had done.. which in the end took her less than a minute to correct. If you want to be valued and treated with kindness please go elsewhere, there are plenty of nail shops close by who treat their customers with respect. I have left feeling really upset and humiliated by this experience and all whilst paying £40 for the privilege.
