The chrome tips I received were messy, with excess powder and gel underneath the nails and patchy line work. Despite the poor quality, I was still charged £45. I had to seek correction elsewhere, incurring additional expenses.
I visited the salon three days ago for a manicure with a new set of BIAB and a pedicure with gelish, both of which I had booked in advance. Upon arrival, I was greeted and reiterated my requests. The technician who did my nails did a satisfactory job, but unfortunately, he did not provide the new set I had requested. When I asked for a redo, he assured me that the oil at the end would fix it.
During the pedicure, one of the technicians used a pumice rock on the top of my foot (photos attached below) despite my repeated requests to stop as it was causing me pain. She proceeded to laugh with her colleague and continued to scrub the other foot, ignoring my discomfort.
Although I didn't want to cause a scene as they seemed busy and the damage didn't appear significant at the time, my foot has been in severe pain since and looks terrible as she essentially scraped off my skin.
Yesterday, my friend and I politely requested a refund for the pedicure. The receptionist turned away from us, and another staff member insisted I needed a doctor's note detailing the incident and that they would only reimburse me upon receipt of the note. They tried to shift blame onto me, suggesting I had a pre-existing condition on my foot. When I explained that the pumice rock should not have been used in that area at all, one of the staff members proceeded to demonstrate its harmlessness by using it on her own foot. Despite our request for video evidence, they refused and ultimately only refunded the pedicure, displaying an inappropriate and unprofessional attitude. They should treat customers better, especially when they make mistakes. I will not be returning to this salon.
I have been a loyal patron of this salon, but after today's experience, I will never return. A staff member named CAT began my nail service and displayed rudeness towards me, while their colleague, who had previously worked on my nails, was speaking in Vietnamese. Although I couldn't understand the conversation, I sensed it was about me. CAT's behaviour turned hostile and impolite when I requested to see all the available colours and ensure uniform nail sizes.
Despite my attempts to address their rudeness, CAT insinuated that other customers had complained about my inquiries, stating that nail services are considered a luxury and implying that I was being demanding. Cali Nails should aim to meet customer needs without unnecessary harshness.
As a result of this treatment, they have lost a loyal customer. I will not be returning. The dismissive response below only reinforces the disdain this establishment holds for its clients. It appears that customers are viewed as an inconvenience, and I suspect they may not operate as a legitimate business. It's simply disrespectful!
Furthermore, attached are photos of the fungal infection I developed after my last visit. This is the second time I have contracted a fungus from Cali Nails due to improper sanitation of their tools and utensils.
