I'm really unhappy about my recent experience with the beauty institute. I have absolutely no issue with the team they are lovely and I love their hot wax. But I booked a waxing appointment through treatwell as I usually do, last sunday for the monday morning. I received a confirmation email. When I showed up for my appointment, the SPA was closed, so I called the helpline that informed me that my booking had not gone through their diary so they weren't aware of it. It has happened before that my appointments were cancelled but I always received a message. This time, a week later I still haven't been refunded despite my calls, I thought I'd maybe receive a commercial/goodwill gesture because I'm a reasonably regular client, nothing. This SPA is slightly more expensive than other treatments around but I loved the quality of the wax they use and their flexibility, and it was a real game changer for me trying to find appointments fitting my schedule. I will not use it again unfortunately
Management needs to adjust the booking times. They advertise a 90 min massage, when it’s really only 70 min plus 20 min of sitting in a lounge chair and drinking water. I asked for a Swedish Massage, but there was barely any pressure, and I wasn’t asked if the pressure was good or not. The massage and environment was relaxing, but not what I was expecting when booking a 90 min massage, after getting a 70 min light touch. Hands and feet also aren’t included in a regular massage, so you need to ask for those to be added if you’re expecting it. There was no knee/leg cushions either, and the table wasn’t long enough for a 5’6” person. My heels were hanging off, and my head was still partially on the face part of the table.
