First visit to this salon, and Alex was very welcoming and professional. She understood what I wanted, checking if I was happy with the length and colour of my apres gel nail extensions, which I adore. Booked my next two appointments 😄 …
I went to KHB for Gel Extensions with Gel Polish, £42. Sadly, the results disappointed me. The apex on 3 nails felt thick compared to others, and nails were filed shorter than the rest. I went back, and they agreed to re-do 3 nails. They looked better after the redo. Returned 2 weeks later for gel removal, £20. They filed it off with a machine and nail file. A week later, I saw gel still on my nails, chipping off and looking awful. I went back at 9 am the next day, showing them the issue. They acknowledged a thin layer of gel remained. As I was leaving for a holiday, I needed it fixed that day, but they were fully booked. They suggested acetone, but couldn't provide it. They gave me a nail file, saying I could also file them. I asked for a refund, but they declined. I went elsewhere to remove the remaining gel. Not a pleasant experience for me.
My first time at the salon, and it won't be my last. I had phone conversations about changing my booking, and they contacted me about a cancellation. The staff I spoke to were helpful. The salon is bright and inviting, with all staff being friendly. I was impressed by the setup in my treatment room, especially the essential oil bowl under my head (great for my sinuses!) My therapist, Cat, gave me a perfect massage, asking about my preferred pressure and areas needing attention. Overall, this salon is a gem for me, and I'll be booking more treatments in the future.
