I took my son to CH hair and beauty, he had a Brazilian blow dry. What an amazing job done. We are both thrilled with the results. Blessing is incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. Extremely friendly staff and a calming atmosphere. Many thanks 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I rarely leave reviews but here's my honest feedback. I left satisfied with how my hair looked but dissatisfied with the process. They charge £20 to wash your hair, which is fine, but my hair wasn't washed thoroughly. There was no scalp scrubbing, which is essential when shampooing. When it came to braiding - I had half cornrows and half braids. They were quite rough with my hair. Using a narrow comb on my dry, tangled 4b-4c hair is not acceptable, though they stopped when I asked. Even during blow drying, they didn't section and brush to prevent breakage. I could hear my hair being pulled and torn with how roughly it was brushed. When it came to my cornrows, I requested less extension hair to reduce pain and show more of my natural hair. For the price paid (£190 in total), it's my right to have it done as I wish. The hairdresser seemed frustrated and annoyed when I voiced my preferences. Instead of listening to the customer, she had an attitude, stating she didn't want it to look amateurish. What looks nice to me is what matters. They need to understand that it's our hair, and we decide how we want it, without facing resistance. They did eventually style it as I wanted. I also found it unprofessional that one of the hairdressers was loudly watching Netflix on her phone while working on my hair. The finishing touch was decent, with my ends placed in hot water, but there was no oil or foam to complete. It felt odd and exploitative when they asked for an extra £20 for using 2 and 1/2 packs of hair. I was tired of advocating for myself in a hostile environment, so I just wanted to leave peacefully at that point. They didn't offer contactless payment and requested cash (claiming the hairdresser needed it immediately for something else) or a trip to the nearest ATM. I prefer paying with my phone, so that wasn't possible, and I ended up doing a bank transfer.
I can't speak highly enough of CH Hair. Since relocating to Plymouth they have become my top hair salon. I always trust the wonderful team to look after me and my hair. I've had numerous hairstyles done there. Always a delight to visit. Highly recommended.
