My hair colouring experience here was dreadful - I've been getting my hair highlighted for 17 years and this was the first time I had to lodge a complaint at a salon! I had a t section done by Bryony - I specifically asked for a creamy blonde shade (emphasized my dislike for yellow tones). The entire process felt rushed, and I was hastily taken to be washed out after less than 20 minutes under heat (at my regular salon it usually takes 30-40 minutes). The result appeared slightly yellow in the salon, but I decided to give it a couple of washes to see if it would improve - unfortunately, it got even worse. A week after the appointment, my hair was a disaster. There were bright yellow patches, noticeable gaps near the roots, and somehow, it made my natural base colour look much darker than it actually is! It was evident that the colour was underdeveloped as it hadn't processed for long enough. I reached out to josh wood, who initially suggested that I pay for a gloss to fix it. I pointed out that a gloss would only provide a temporary solution and wouldn't lighten my hair, which was the main issue (ignoring the poorly done foils with gaps) as the bleach hadn't been left on long enough to lift the colour. They then offered to do a gloss for free, but that was the extent of their assistance. When they took 2 days to respond to my follow-up query, and with a significant social event approaching, I urgently contacted my regular hairdresser (Hari's), who thankfully managed to fit me in. I ended up paying them to completely redo the foils as they confirmed that the colour hadn't lifted enough and a gloss wouldn't fix the issue. At Hari's, I was asked if a trainee had done the foils because of how poorly they were applied - they showed me the inconsistencies in the colouring process, with some parts of my hair lacking foils while others had thick, unevenly coloured sections. It will take several appointments to grow out these chunky patches of colour and return to the fine, more natural highlights I've had for years.
