I visited a salon in Manchester for a gel manicure 3 weeks ago. Despite my late arrival, they kindly accommodated me. The nail technician, a skilled and efficient individual, did a fantastic job on my nails. I look forward to having her work on my nails again in the future. Even after 3 weeks, my nails still look impeccable as they have grown out. I have included photos from the day of the manicure and today.
I can't comment on the nail services, but the hairdresser is a disaster. Supposedly with 15 years of experience in Kensington, she managed to botch a simple layering job. I ended up with just one layer in my hair. Yes, one solitary layer. £45 for that mess. I'd rather have a DIY cut at home for free. She also gave my sister a crooked haircut, with a chunk of hair missing. It's baffling how someone could make such mistakes. She even tried to cover up by lying, claiming I requested fewer layers, which was untrue as I hardly spoke during the appointment. Later, she confessed she struggles with layering short hair (revealing her own shortcomings). The manager is equally incompetent - should consider a career in comedy instead. Offered a pathetic £10 refund or to 'fix' it. Given that our hair was now shoulder-length and we didn't want to risk going bald, we declined. But £10? I'm sure he'll give a similar canned response as he did to others, but steer clear of this place if you value your hairdo.
I am a huge fan of Nia's craftsmanship! She is a delightful stylist, always attentive and friendly.
