I had a 10am appointment with Elena for a full head of highlights, cut, and style. However, I departed the salon at 2:45pm with damp hair, no haircut, and no styling. Elena applied bleach to my hair around 10:15am and rinsed it off at 2pm. Not only did she leave the bleach on for over 3 hours, but she also reapplied it midway. Despite claiming 8 years of experience, she neglected the fact that prolonging bleach exposure only leads to more damage, not better results. By the time she washed my hair, it was breaking off, yet she continued to comb through my wet, fragile strands with a small comb. My hair was falling out in clumps due to her combing technique and choice of brush. Elena then blamed me for the breakage, alleging that I had bleached my hair in the past 6 months, which was untrue. I clarified that I hadn't bleached my hair in over a year, but she accused me of lying, stating that one of us was not telling the truth. She pointed out uneven lightness in my hair, insinuating that I must have bleached it. As a natural blonde who came in with brunette hair, my hair naturally lightens unevenly, especially in the sun. I left the salon feeling shaken after the worst treatment I've ever experienced. It was highly unprofessional, and my hair will require months to recover from the severe damage. I received a refund for the haircut I never received, but after the damage already inflicted, I had no desire for Elena to touch my hair again. I will not be returning to this salon.
