I have been frequenting James for all my hairdressing needs for many years and I have NEVER left anything but overjoyed with the results. His cuts, colours and styles are absolutely fantastic and I always feel like a rejuvenated person once he's finished his magic. I consistently receive compliments from people after visiting James's salon. I highly recommend him, and the salon is a delightful and welcoming place, just like the staff! I absolutely adore having my hair styled at Hair by James 🙂 The salon itself exudes a wonderfully tranquil and cosy ambiance. I never feel hurried or stressed, even when deliberating over what to have done, which can sometimes take me a while! I have been having my hair coloured by James for a few years now, and he is exceptional, taking his time to ensure everything is flawless. He is truly a perfectionist and takes immense pride in his craft. The salon has recently expanded, and James has a fantastic new apprentice to impart his skills to. I'm excited to meet her on my next appointment! 💇🏼♀️🥰
I had my hair styled on 15/11 at the salon; it was meant to be a balayage, but it doesn't resemble one. The following day, I messaged James to provide feedback and discuss potential solutions, as I was dissatisfied with the outcome due to numerous areas where the bleach hadn't processed adequately, resulting in visible blotches. He suggested I come in on Friday for a consultation. On Thursday, he asked if I could come in the afternoon, but I couldn't as I was going to be in Oxford for the day, as my partner had a PCR test scheduled for travel, and afterward, we planned to explore the Christmas lights and market. I believe he assumed we had COVID or COVID symptoms; I tried to clarify that my partner required the test for work-related travel as the destination country mandated it beforehand. I sent him a screenshot of the email from the travel company requesting the test, but he advised me not to come to the salon as he is expecting a child and doesn't want to take any risks, which I completely understand. The next day, I inquired about when he could schedule me in, but he didn't respond, and the day after, he simply blocked me on Instagram, leaving me at a loss about what to do with my hair, especially with the holidays approaching.
