I searched online to find someone in northern England or Hertfordshire who could assist me because I’d been dyeing my silver roots at home for a while with boxed dyes and ended up with a dreadful black streak at the front due to overlapping dye left on for too long each time, along with about four months’ worth of grown-out grey. I also desired not to completely cover my grey but to achieve what I later discovered was known as grey blending, allowing for longer intervals between colouring and blending the grey with the rest of my hair.
