It's an Afro hair emporium, but it's run by individuals of Asian descent, not Africans. Furthermore, the staff are impolite and patronising. I know several individuals, myself included, who have encountered negative situations here! If you're in search of Afro hair products in Middlesbrough, I would suggest Bobby's shop on Clifton Street, a mere 5-minute stroll away.
The shop attendant shadows you around the store as if you're about to pilfer something. I confronted her, and she mentioned they've had issues with theft! Install CCTV cameras around the store then! I felt deeply offended, and after 4 years of shopping there, I made the decision to cease. I now shop online or at places where I feel welcomed. I toil hard for the money I spend there and refuse to be treated like a petty criminal 😡
Absolutely remarkable from start to finish. The personnel are exceedingly amiable, inviting and proficient. Lola and the other lady who styled my children's hair were incredibly helpful and professional as well. (apologies for not catching the second lady's name). I also had my hair braided by Lola, and we shared a good laugh at my slight discomfort. I highly recommend it - the children and I couldn't be more pleased.
