My partner and I decided to try our first Swedish massage here after hearing positive feedback. However, upon arrival, we were led to separate rooms, despite my belief that Swedish massages could be enjoyed as a couple. We both found the experience rather uncomfortable and more painful than anticipated. My partner, in particular, had a tough time and repeatedly expressed his discomfort to the therapist, even groaning in pain at times. Her response was simply "okay," continuing with the same level of intensity. I have friends in Sweden who are experts in Swedish massage, and they assure me that it should never be painful. Therapists should be gentle, inquire about preferred pressure, and adjust it upon request. After the session, we were advised to soak in a hot bath, whereas it should have been a cold bath for muscle recovery. Later that evening, my partner was in so much pain due to his back that he had to resort to painkillers and lie on the floor. The next day, he still struggles to walk without discomfort. No massage should have such detrimental effects. We will not be returning.
