Under no circumstances should you book with Charlie Dawson. Absolutely appalling customer service and only considers her own schedule without regard for the fact that others also lead busy lives. She read and ignored 2 of my messages which were sent a day apart, all to avoid carrying out a patch test and thereby keeping my deposit. If someone has time to read your messages, they have time to reply. She did offer to extend her hours until 6 one day (although she shifted the blame onto me by saying “I could go out of my way to stay open”). I did, and no one was there. A waste of time, fuel, and still didn't receive my deposit back. Not recommended to anyone, there are kinder individuals who do better work.
I received one of the worst haircuts of my life. The hairdresser was in a hurry. When I asked a question, I was ignored, and she showed no concern for how I would look, she just kept cutting. And did a terrible job. I now resemble a man which is far from the pictures I showed her. While I saw a drink in front of other clients, she did not offer me anything. I doubt I will ever return. Appalling customer service from her.
I was seeking a hair salon where I could feel at ease as a mature client, a challenging decision when new to the area, but I certainly discovered that here. Sam was meticulous and encouraging as she evaluated my hair and respectfully inquired about my previous cuts and styles. I learned that she had previously instructed hairdressing at Tamworth College, and her wealth of experience certainly shone through. I did feel slightly judged as she questioned whether I blow-dried my hair or used products on it (I don't do either) but that was probably my 'fault', as I have encountered similar reactions of embarrassment when visiting other hairdressers! The hair wash was very enjoyable. I then received a razor cut, a new experience for me, and Sam was very adept at explaining what to expect before starting. The final cut was simply perfect. I couldn't fault it in any way! Overall, an outstanding visit and I would not hesitate to recommend the salon to new clients.
