I had made an online appointment with Kay (the purported owner of the shop) and upon arrival, I was informed that he was absent. If you won't be available, you shouldn't be accepting appointments or, at the very least, you should notify your clients to avoid wasting their time. I ended up getting my hair cut by another barber since I had already paid, and he did a commendable job. The three stars are for the overall business practices and not the substitute barber.
After a few weeks of travelling, I was in need of a haircut and a shave. Kay provided me with the finest haircut and shave I have ever received. If I resided in London instead of the United States, this would be the primary barber shop where I would become a regular patron.
Remarkable experience. I couldn't manage to have a haircut before embarking on a month-long journey and was in dire need of a trim. I'm quite particular about barbers, and have had no luck with cuts abroad. This establishment came highly recommended, so I made a reservation a couple of days in advance. It was a brief 10-minute stroll from the apartment (thanks to Google Maps for leading me astray thrice). My barber was incredibly precise. The session lasted about 20-25 minutes, during which he offered me valuable advice and gently suggested an age-appropriate style. I will definitely return on my next visit to London.
