I visited this store about a month ago and have been hesitant to say anything, but I had an absolutely dreadful experience here. From the moment I entered, I felt judged and observed as I browsed around the shop. I decided to try on some rings and, like anyone would, removed some of my current rings from my fingers and placed them in my bag to try on some new rings and assess how they fit, etc. While at the checkout, I could hear whispers from the lady working there who was clearly discussing me on the phone. Already feeling uneasy, she then approached me to inform me that I must remain in the shop as people were on their way to speak to me because I was 'stealing'. Feeling very flustered, I reassured the lady that I was not stealing, offered to show her the contents of my bag, and explained that I was only trying on rings. I then had to wait in the shop for these individuals to arrive. For context, I am only a young individual and find these situations very frightening and intimidating (especially when falsely accused). From that point on, I was so upset and confused, and continued to receive cold stares from the woman at the checkout. She later informed me that no one was coming, so all the fear and disruption was for nothing. The entire ordeal was incredibly uncomfortable for me, and the staff handled it terribly, not even offering an apology or reassurance that everything was alright. Instead, they continued to be distant and intimidating. I will not be returning, which is unfortunate. Perhaps they should learn not to assume that any young person entering the shop is going to steal?
