My recent visit to the nail salon, a place where I've always had top-notch manicures, unfortunately left me feeling conflicted and led me to give it a 2-star rating. This particular visit deviated significantly from my previously positive experiences.
The source of my dissatisfaction stems from the unorthodox approach they took to my pre-scheduled manicure and pedicure session. While I understand that salons employ different methods, the decision to carry out both treatments simultaneously, within the confines of the pedicure chair, was puzzling and uncomfortable. I found myself twisted in an awkward position for almost an hour, contorting my upper body to accommodate the technician working on my manicure while my pedicure was being done. This setup was a far cry from the relaxation and luxury that a visit to a nail salon is meant to offer.
Further contributing to my discontent was the relatively low number of clients in the salon and my deliberate scheduling of separate time slots for each treatment. This only heightened my confusion about the chosen arrangement. Given the available space, there was plenty of room to transition to a manicure table once the pedicure was completed. The absence of this transition left me feeling not just physically uncomfortable but also somewhat marginalized compared to other customers who experienced a smoother and more comfortable transition between treatments.
The essence of a nail salon visit lies in both comfort and indulgence, aspects that my recent experience failed to adequately provide, despite the premium cost. I've been frequenting this salon for many years now. The quality of service here is consistently excellent. The apprentices are trained in-house to the highest standards, and the experienced staff have been with the salon for a long time. Every time I get a colour, trim, and blow dry, it turns out beautifully. They also offer complimentary drinks and you can order food from a nearby restaurant.
